Read in full, publishes no figure

13 named sources were read in full on the dates shown and print no usable figure. They are counted, never filled in.

Methodology

Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2).

9 of the 22 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 13 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 2 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere.

The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source for each breakdown it prices, in GBP (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences for one breakdown), so a page that gives figures for several breakdowns gives one for each and N counts 7 figures, never sentences; 158 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded.

The fuller derivation this dataset is chartered to grow into (not yet what the figures above are; they are each source's own published figure as read): Per UK EPOS supplier: the printed monthly software price per till, the printed hardware price, whether the two are quoted separately or only as a discounted bundle tied to a minimum term, and which trades the supplier prices a named package for.

Two things fall out that nobody publishes.

First, the BUNDLE TAX: Epos Now's headline 'WAS £849, NOW FROM £299' is conditional on 'a 12-month payments, care and support subscription starting at £54 per month', so the advertised saving and the contracted cost move in opposite directions - the index carries both numbers side by side.

Second, the CURRENCY MAP: of the UK-facing pages read on 2026-09-10, Lightspeed's uk/ restaurant pricing printed '89 €/mo', Square's squareup.com/gb/ restaurant page printed 'you'll be charged $60 per month per location' beside a '£0/month' tier, and Loyverse and SumUp's POS Lite priced in USD - a buyer on a .co.uk or /gb/ path cannot read their own price.

Counting who prices in pounds, per read, is ours.

158 candidate sentences on these pages were refused by a reviewer; each refusal and its reason is recorded in the review ledger.
